A Strong Woman VS A Woman of Strength

A strong woman works out every day,
Pride in her appearance she portrays,
But a woman of strength kneels to pray,
Keeping her soul in shape, God leading the way.

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything,
Looking forward to challenges each day will bring,
Women of strength show courage in the midst of fear,
Knowing triumph through faith because the Lord is near.

Strong women won't let anyone get the best of them,
So skilled in defense even if they have to pretend,
Yet a woman of strength gives her best to everyone,
Being anointed with divine blood from the only begotten Son.

A strong woman relies on the physical attributes making her tough,
In her search for power and money she will never have enough,
A woman of strength understands that it’s not about material stuff,
Knowing that before becoming a diamond, first she’ll be in the rough.

A strong woman sometimes disguises her feelings shadowed by clouds,
Unhinged when challenged on her policy becoming boisterous and loud,
A woman of strength concerns herself not with judgment from others,
And will not let business interfere with commitments as a wife and mother.

A strong woman is easily impatient back and forth she will begin to pace,
Counting on her holier than thou attitude instead of depending on faith,
A woman of strength is assured trust in God will always carry her through,
And at the Creator’s appointed time she’ll receive all that is justly due.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same for tomorrow,
Refusing to take time looking back with reverence and Godly sorrow,
The woman of strength realizes life's mistakes no matter how slim,
While thanking God for the blessings as she capitalizes on them.

A strong woman walks head first with no doubt in her mind,
Again, no matter what, she’ll not make this mistake a second time,
But a woman of strength knows God will catch her when she falls,
So when a situation arises again, she’s not afraid to answer the call.

A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face,
Always doing whatever it takes to finish, seeking only first place,
The woman of strength competes with an emotional sense of grace,
Understanding it’s more important to run a Holy Spirit filled race.

A strong woman has faith that for the journey she’ll have enough,
No matter how uneven the terrain or roads being rocky and rough,
A woman of strength knows it’s in the journey she will become strong,
And the love of God is forever with her, no matter how difficult or long.

A strong woman when uninformed thinks that she is being mistreated,
In the end her physical attributes fail causing doubt to become seeded,
A woman of strength will compromise as a little give and take is needed,
Why? Because a lesson not learned the first time is soon to be repeated.

Ladies start every day on your knees with supplication & prayer,
Trust and believe that God will always get you from here to there,
And should your giant steps seem to be moving only inch by inch,
The journey is not as A Strong Woman but A Woman of Strength.

This poem really touched me and gave me a lot to think about. I pray that it does you, too. What do your goals and priorities look like today? Do they reflect the desire to be a strong woman or a woman of strength?

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! It is really good to pop in again after being totally out of commission for a couple of weeks. I am still not doing very well and have had to spend most of my time lying down in bed, instead of being able to sit up in my recliner like I had been doing for so long. I am hoping and praying that this is just a set-back and that I will be better really soon.

I have been to the ER and 2 different doctors over the last few weeks. They all have done a good bit of testing and rearranging of my meds. I still have 2 more tests that need to be done, probably after Thanksgiving. If those don't show anything significant, then I will be going to another specialist. It's been a very LONG drawn out process and each time I go out, it takes several days or longer for me to recuperate from the outing.

My family is definitely under attack and I would really appreciate your continued prayers. It seems like every day something new comes up. My husband did get furloughed from his job about 2 weeks ago. As I shared with you here, this could last a few weeks or a few months. Either way, it could not have hit at a worse time. Our savings has been just about depleted recently due to a whole host of issues, the largest of which have been my medical issues and our middle daughter beginning college a couple of months ago. We also had another set back this past Wednesday when our youngest daughter was involved in an automobile accident in which she struck another driver from the rear. Everyone was able to walk away from the accident, PRAISE GOD!! However, our daughter did break her foot and our car suffered significant damage and is not drivable. Thankfully, the other party was not injured and his vehicle was only slightly damaged. Unfortunately, we did not have full coverage on this particular vehicle, so we are not quite sure what we are going to do just yet. *sigh*

As I've said before, we know this to be true....'When It Pours, He Reigns!' I know the Lord is still on His throne and He is in control. I just have to keep this in mind on days when things seem extremely bad and I feel like I can't possibly handle this anymore. I must remember.....this, too, shall pass.

Now, we are getting ready for them to go back to school. :0( Bekah starts tomorrow and I can hardly believe she will be beginning her junior year in high school. What is even harder to believe is Morgan is preparing to start her freshman year in college which is only 9 days away!! It blows me away just thinking about it. *sigh*

I am still trying to get caught up on all my comments. Please bear with me. I'm still struggling with a lot of issues related to my illness, plus our air has been going in and out, and I do NOT do well in the heat because the thermostat in my body does not regulate itself very well. I saw this quote the other day and just had to laugh. This is EXACTLY how I feel most days! I feel like I have been sick or something in my life has been royally messed up since the day I was born. It seems like the word 'normal' does not apply to me or my life...it never has. *sigh*

But then I remember, I am a child of the Most High King!! He created me in His image. So, I wasn't made to be 'normal'! I am special! There is no one else on this earth exactly like me. He has given me my own special gifts and talents. In Psalm 139, it says that I was 'fearfully and wonderfully' made and that all of my days were ordained for me and written in His book before even one of them came to be. How awesome is that to think about? The Lord has also promised to work ALL THINGS out for good, because I love Him. (Romans 8:28) I know that the Lord has a plan for my crazy, often confusing and mixed up, life - even if I can not understand it right now. (Jeremiah 29:11) I most definitely trust what He says because the Lord does not lie. One day, all of the things I've gone through will work together for good and will bring glory to the Lord. Remembering this each day is very reassuring and helps me to keep on keeping on.

This is dedicated to my daughter, Morgan, who will graduate from high school, with honors, this coming Friday night. We couldn't be more proud of her. THANKFUL THURSDAY

I have SO much to be thankful for but today I want to give thanks to the Lord for the most incredible Mother's Day weekend I've had in quite some time. It was full of lots of good stuff. Not only was I able to spend a wonderful evening with my amazing mom, but I also spent another evening with my three daughters, ALL at the same time! That hasn't happened for Mother's Day in a very, very long time. I received a ton of wonderful goodies, but better yet, we simply had a great time together. I was truly thrilled to be with all three of my girls again. I was also blessed to have my youngest grandson, Mason, here. I wish both of my grandsons could have made it, but, unfortunately, Connor had a bad day at school, so his mommy decided he needed to stay at home with dad. That was a little disappointing because I don't get to see them that often but I still had a wonderful time visiting with Mason. He was a complete mess and kept us laughing the entire time. We took a few pictures that evening and I wanted to share them with you. I hope you enjoy them.....

All I can say after that is WOW! What she said really resonated with me. I have done A LOT of things in my life that I am not proud of. I still to this day struggle with forgiving myself for those things. I know that I have disappointed and hurt a lot of people over the years who are very close to me and that makes it hard for me to forgive and, of course, I'll never forget.

Having a lot of 'free time', lots of VERY QUIET time on my hands lends itself to thinking and thinking and thinking. When you have that much time to think, it is not always good. I know the Lord has forgiven me and I have placed these things at His feet a million and one times but I am continuously going back to pick them up again.

Why do we do that? We crawl up in the Lord's lap and give Him all of our hurts, our pains, our fears, our disappointments and all of our many, many sins. We ask Him to forgive us and to help us. And He does! Then, not too much later, we try to quietly sneak up and take some or all of it back. But we are totally fooling ourselves if we think the Lord doesn't know what we are doing!

The thing is, the Lord wants us to leave all our burdens with Him. He wants to ease our load. In Matthew, He tells us, ' Come to me, ALL YOU who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.' How awesome is that?

Is there someone you need to forgive? Are you like me and need to forgive yourself? Do you need to rest?? Try crawling up in Jesus' lap today. I promise, He will comfort you and give you that much needed rest.

I love this song/quote.  It always touches my heart and brings tears to my eyes.  I love this country with all of my heart and soul.  It literally hurts me to my core to see what is happening to our great land and our people.  We all need to come together and return to the roots on which this country was founded.  We need to pray like we have never prayed before - for each other, for our President and for all the rest of our leaders.  Regardless the circumstances, we ALL need to pray - for EVERYONE.
