FOR TODAY - Tuesday, June 22nd

Outside my window.....it is partly cloudy and a very hot and humid 89 degrees, with a chance of 'pop up' thunderstorms this afternoon.

I am thinking.....about how much my head hurts. It has been hurting since Sunday. A throbbing, relentless kind of pain. I'm really tired of it now.

I am thankful for....drugs. The legal kind, of course! :0)

From the kitchen.....the coffee maker just softly alarmed letting me know it was turning off for the morning. Now I guess it's time to get some breakfast but I'll have to wake my sleeping daughter first. That can't be done so softly. LOL!

I am wearing.....shorts,t-shirt and socks. I almost always have on socks because my feet get cold no matter how warm or hot the rest of my body is.

I am remembering.....that we have officially started summer and how very much I despise summer! I can not wait for fall!

I am going.....to write some thank you notes today if my head will quite hurting long enough for me to get them done, or at least relent a little bit so that it is not quite a chore!

I am (still) reading.....'When The Soul Mends' - the third book in the 'Sisters of The Quilt' series by Cindy Woodsmall. I bet y'all think I'm never going to finish that book, huh? Well, I just haven't been doing that much reading lately. I can't seem to stay awake long enough when I start.

I am hoping (and praying).....that my husband is able to find some way to get help with finally landscaping our yard. It looks absolutely hideous! We started building our dream home at the very end of 2006, but then I became ill in mid 2007. David was our builder/contractor and did most of the work himself, along with the help of my dad and a couple other family members, in order to save money. After I became sick, he did everything he could to take care of me, our daughters, all while trying to get the house finished. We finally moved in January 5th, 2008 (David's birthday!) - even though it really was not totally complete. Our yard was basically nothing but dirt, rocks and trees when we moved it and it hasn't improved much since then. David has tried to work on it but we still have basically no landscaping. Due to my astronomical medical bills, our money is extremely tight, plus David has virtually no time to devote to improving it. It is so very discouraging and sad to finally have our 'dream home', but be embarrassed about its appearance. I know this sounds really trivial, especially in the grand scheme of things, but it is something that is VERY important to my husband. He has always taken great pride in our home, no matter where we have lived and that always includes everything inside and outside our home. David is extremely self-LESS! He works very long hours at work, he takes wonderful care of me, he juggles our daughters' schedules and tries to attend all of their functions and he never complains or asks for anything in return. I just wish I could figure out a way to help him. (I'm SO sorry for the ramble! Just a lot on my mind today! )

I am praying......for what I just mentioned above, that my head quits hurting soon and that time will go extremely slow over the next month. I am so NOT ready to send my daughter off to college! :0( I am also praying for my aunt who was just diagnosed with lung cancer and for my 95 y/o grandmother who is in the nursing home and is not doing well at all this week.

I am hearing.....the clock ticking beside me. Hmmmmm, that's kind of creepy. I didn't hear it until I mentioned that I was praying for time to go slow. *cue theme music to Twilight Zone*

Around the house.....the big mess remains where my husband is working on our built-ins to go on either side of the fireplace. He has been SO busy at work that that project has been put on hold. I hope they will be complete soon.

A few plans for the week....Morgan and David are going to 'Camp War Eagle' at Auburn University, later in the week. It is a kind of orientation for Freshmen, and their parents, before they start school in the fall. The kids stay the entire time and sleep in the dorms and the parents just attend during the day. I'm sure that it will be a fun time for all!

From my picture journal.....this is a sweet picture of my Pom puppy, Casper. He is a sweetie but he is ALWAYS into something, mostly chewing up somebodies shoestrings or getting into a trashcan somewhere when we aren't keeping a close eye on him. But he and his sister, Sadee (our black lab), are really good at keep me company during the day and I love them!

FOR TODAY - Tuesday, March 9th

Outside my window.....it is very cloudy day but very warm, especially for early March. It is about 66 degrees this afternoon. We are expecting rain this evening and the next few days.

I am thinking.....about how much my head hurts right now. I took a little tumble a few minutes ago. *sigh*

I am thankful for.....some extra special time I was able to spend with my husband this past weekend. Those times are much more rare these days due to my illness and all the extra work he is having to do these days.

From the kitchen.....that's a big question mark again today.

I am wearing.....the same thing as usual. Comfy sweats, slippers and my blanket.

I am going.....to take some Ibuprofen and rest a little while.

I am reading.....and researching as much information as I can find about the two colleges Morgan has pretty much narrowed her choices to!

I am hoping.....we will hear some really good news about scholarships soon!

I am praying.....for the Lord to show His favor upon Morgan as she does her auditions and as the schools look at all her academic and music related accomplishments. I really pray that she will be given the best chance possible at achieving her goals in life. I want this for all my girls.

I am hearing.....someone down the street mowing their lawn and thinking about how yucky ours looks. My poor husband just does not have time to do everything!

Around the house.....there are SO many things that need to be done, there are too many to count!

One of my favorite things.....is a cold, rainy day, especially when we have a fire built inside and I can stay all snuggled up beside it -preferably with my hubby.

A few plans for the rest of the week: This weekend Morgan and Bekah have band festival. Then, Morgan will have her last audition for college on Monday at Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University.

Our Newest Addition

I’d like to introduce you to the newest member of our family. His name is Casper and he is a purebred Pomeranian, just like our Keanu was. We have had him a little over a week and he is now 12 weeks old. D took him today for his first Vet visit since he has been with us and he weighed in at a whopping 3 lbs and 10 oz! When he is fully grown he should be around 5-6 lbs.

I knew even before Keanu died that I wanted another Pom. They are great companion dogs and I like that they stay really tiny. Casper is doing very well with us so far and he is getting along great with our other dog, Sadee, a 3 1/2 year old lab mix. It only took them about a day of getting to know each other. They have really been playing and having a great time together. I’m really excited to have him here.

All in all, it has been a great experience so far. Sadee always wanted to ‘play’ with Keanu but he was a ‘grumpy old man’ and wasn’t much for playing. Now Sadee is having a blast chasing and being chased by Casper. It has been lots of fun to watch! I still miss my Keanu but Casper is making things a little easier.
