** Due to the increasing severity of MY ILLNESS, it has become impossible for me to continue to post on a regular basis. Unfortunately, as much as I desperately long to, I am also unable to visit each of your blogs often or reciprocate all the loving, supportive comments many of you continue to leave - even though at times it may appear as though you've arrived at some long ago, forsaken blog! With that said, I really want you to know that I miss every single one of you and that I really am still here! I'm just too sick and too weak most days to be able to sit up long enough to create a brand new post...or even read one. However, I absolutely do receive AND read every new encouraging word you leave (and, often, the old ones, again and again!) and I cherish them now more than ever! I truly appreciate your love, support, and, most importantly, your precious time spent on your knees in prayer for my family and me. It ALL means the world to me and I am truly blessed to have friends like you!
~Hugs and Sister Love, Teresa

FYI: All comments come to my email, which I can easily read on my phone. I also enjoy Facebook on my phone because I can catch up on A LOT in a very short time there. Soooo, if you're on Facebook, come 'friend' me there! {{HUGS}} **

HIS LOVE ENDURES FOREVER

Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good.
His love endures forever.
~Psalm 136:1

When you turn the TV or radio on to listen to the news these days, all you hear being discussed are things like, how bad the economy is, how high the foreclosure rate is, how many people are expected to be without a job in the next few months, the continued debate over healthcare reform, grim details on the latest natural or man-made disaster and, of course, all the juicy gossip they can provide about the latest celebrity and/or political scandal going on. And, the list goes on and on.

Of course, most of us are worried about our own personal 'issues' which may or may not be related to those being discussed on the news. Things like, trying to pay all our bills, including attempting to also maintain the payments on our homes (which, for some, were affordable at first, but have now unexpectedly gone WAY up), our ever widening waistlines, our ever shrinking bank accounts, our increasing healthcare problems/expenses (this is especially difficult if you have a chronic illness) and/or our latest family members to announce they're getting divorced, which is more and more often because of infidelity.

For some, all these things just seem to keep stacking up and up and they wonder, 'What in the world am I gonna do? How can I keep living like this?' Some people get really discouraged and depressed. Some even consider ending it all because they can not see the light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

But that would be a VERY permanent solution to what are VERY temporary problems. What we must ALL remember is that ALL of these things are temporary, every single one of them. The ONLY thing that lasts forever is God's love for us. Hallelujah!!

Here is this complete Psalm about God's love. I recommend you read it out loud and more than once to let it sink in.

His love really does last FOREVER!

Psalm 136 (NIV)

1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good.
His love endures forever.

2 Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.

3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.

4 to him who alone does great wonders,
His love endures forever.

5 who by his understanding made the heavens,
His love endures forever.

6 who spread out the earth upon the waters,
His love endures forever.

7 who made the great lights—
His love endures forever.

8 the sun to govern the day,
His love endures forever.

9 the moon and stars to govern the night;
His love endures forever.

10 to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt
His love endures forever.

11 and brought Israel out from among them
His love endures forever.

12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
His love endures forever.

13 to him who divided the Red Sea asunder
His love endures forever.

14 and brought Israel through the midst of it,
His love endures forever.

15 but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;
His love endures forever.

16 to him who led his people through the desert,
His love endures forever.

17 who struck down great kings,
His love endures forever.

18 and killed mighty kings—
His love endures forever.

19 Sihon king of the Amorites
His love endures forever.

20 and Og king of Bashan—
His love endures forever.

21 and gave their land as an inheritance,
His love endures forever.

22 an inheritance to his servant Israel;
His love endures forever.

23 to the One who remembered us in our low estate
His love endures forever.

24 and freed us from our enemies,
His love endures forever.

25 and who gives food to every creature.
His love endures forever.

26 Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His love endures forever.

Say it, friend! Well said, and so true. We do often think of our situations and circumstances as permanent when in reality they are just temporary. But how thankful I am that the God we serve can do ALL things, no matter how bleak the situation may be. :)
