As many of you know, my husband, David, and I met while working as Paramedics for one of the largest EMS providers in the Atlanta area, DeKalb County EMS. Not too long after we met, we were working on separate trucks at neighboring fire stations, only a few miles apart.
One day, a call came out in the territory my partner and I were working. It was for a person down, stabbed in the abdomen. The 911 dispatcher stated that the caller was a child and that she stated the victim was also a child. After the initial call was dispatched, my husband and his partner, Cathy, believed they were closer to the location, so they 'jumped the call' from us.
I won't tell you the rest because I can show you! You see, that call my dear hubby stole from me ended up being on the TV show Rescue 911! And, ahem, no....I've never let him live it down. :0)
The other day a dear old friend from our EMS days told me that the episode is on YouTube so I thought I would share it with you all. Please keep in mind that this was 21 years ago AND they were made to make it look all Hollywood. Very rarely do public safety workers (Police, Fire, EMS) actually slide sideways up to a scene in their vehicles and then get out and run! That is extremely dangerous for many different reasons.
Anyway, without further ado......
Here we are today, married almost 20 years! And, I really did forgive him. :0)
Thanks for watching! Have a great day!
Blessings,
Teresa

Hey! Thanks so much for your comment on my blog! It made my day! I'm just starting this whole adventure, so it's been interesting to see where it's led me so far. One of the greatest things is meeting new people, like yourself, who are so encouraging! Your blog is adorable! I love it!
God Bless!
Aww that is cool that he got on tv! Although I must say I think 1 10 year old is a little too young to watch 3 children! Crazy, glad everything worked out though!
How exciting! Thanks for stopping by and letting me know. And you two are so cute in that photo!
Have a great weekend!
I used to watch that show! I don't know why my parents let me see it, though, since I was less than 10 the last I remember it being on. Seriously, though, I still have nightmares about the episode where the little boy stabbed himself with a pair of scissors. Scary stuff!
That's so amazing that that made it onto Rescue 911. I used to love that show. I think you have every right to tease your husband that you could have been the big "star" that day if he hadn't stolen your call!
You two are adorable! A perfect match. :) Hope you are having a good day today!
That is so AWESOME. Did he know that he might be on Rescue 911 when he got the call?
Super.
And you have been together for 20 years. Congrats!
And that you forgave him for your missed fame opportunity...lol.
Thanks for sharing this with me!
I love the hair. The hair really dates us I think. :)))

That was great. I'm so glad you visited on the day I had the fireman's mural up. Glad you have fond memories. Thanks for visiting.
I got caught up in the show...couldn't watch when the little girl took the knife back to the kitchen...knew that Rufus was just around the corner.
Obviously,I could never be a paramedic.
And although he stole your time in the limelight, I know you're so proud of him for helping to save that little boy's life.
You two definately are a cute couple. Still in love!
Hope you have a wonderful week!
Sweet dreams.
Dear Teresa,
My Youtube is acting up these days, so I have to get it checked. But I did love the story you wrote...
Please go over to my most recent post on a heart of worship.
I have dedicated it to you.

Super cool! lol But like you, I'd never let him live it down...hehe
What a coincidence that the call he hijacked from you ended up on the show!
Those poor kids though, wow!
My husband is a paramedic too, I don't know that I'd have the stomach for even a quarter of the stuff he sees.
You and your husband have my respect. You make an adorable couple though!
Thanks for stopping by today.
Wow!! If that were my husband, I don't think I would let him live it down either.
Y'all are so cute.
Wow! What a scary situation!
You both look so comfortable with each other. So cute.
