UPDATE ON MY MOM
~ Number 2 ~
~ Number 2 ~
My mom remains in the hospital and has been given the diagnosis of Diverticulitis, in addition to Pancreatitis. From what I understood from my conversation with her today, it also appears she may have been receiving too much IV fluid which caused her to begin having difficulty breathing this morning. This means, due to her heart condition, she was not able to process the fluids fast enough and was possibly starting to go into Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) due to fluid overload. My mom is very knowledgeable about her various medical conditions and knows all too well the signs, symptoms and causes of CHF. Therefore, she was able to advise the nurse what was happening and insisted they discontinue the fluids immediately.
It has definitely not been a good day for her and we all are very frustrated with everything that is going on. Therefore, bright and early tomorrow morning, she/we will attempt to contact her primary cardiology group in Atlanta to see if we can bring them in on her case so that they can make sure her heart is being properly cared for during her treatment for these intestinal issues. *sigh*
In the meantime, PLEASE continue to pray for my mom. It appears that things are definitely not going to be as simple as we had first hoped at the beginning. Please specifically pray for guidance and wisdom for the physicians and other medical personnel who are in charge of her care. Please pray for strength, comfort, peace and complete healing for my mom. And, last but certainly not least, please pray for my dad as he stands by my mom's side during all of this. As I told you about a couple of weeks ago, my parents just celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. They have been together through thick and thin, but they are certainly not spring chickens anymore. :0)
Thanks so much for your love and support. It means more to me than you'll ever know.
Blessings,
Teresa

HI Teresa!
I will continue to pray for your mom & dad, and the rest of you. Pray for God's will & the wisdom in the hospital staff in handling your mom's situation. God bless you all!
Continued prayers for your whole family. I am so glad she has you to keep track of things, that she has such great knowledge, Dad to hold her hand, and prayerfully good care takers in the hospital.
We know you have strong connections above!
Dear Teresa,
I am praying for your mom and dad all of you Hope she gets well soon and that they figure out exactly what is going on and that her Cardiologist will be on board I do not like the New Rules with Pedimont that your doctor can not see you but have to have a Hospitlist I think that is wrong but will be praying . Hope you are feeling better.

Oh, Teresa, I'm so sorry I didn't know. I've been having a hard time getting back into the swing of things since my FIL died. I'm slowly shaking out of my emotional paralysis - ability to think came back first, then just express any idea, then eventually write, now I'm able to visit and reach out!
My aunts and mom have diverticulitis. My aunt just had surgery to remove an area of inflammation so she shouldn't have that problem anymore. It usually doesn't require surgery, but after years of episodes, it was needed.
I remember my grandmother taking the seeds out of cucumbers and tomatoes - no sesame seed bread. Our family cannot turn down one of my aunt's famous tomtoes - so it is an on-going battle.
I'll be praying for you still. After great challenges, exhaustion sets in to recover from the emotional strength we exhibit (bluecotton theory). I pray revitalized strength for you!
Blessings:)
I am So happy that you visited my site (thru sits) so that I can also visit yours..i am very new to this but appreciate you faith thru hard times! We serve the same Lord!
